Tuning Directly to a Station
Recalling a Memorized Station
You can listen to any of the memorized stations.

Using RDS

An Introduction to RDS
RDS (Radio Data System) is a system used by FM radio stations to
provide listeners with various kinds of information—the name of the
station and the kind of show they're broadcasting, for example. This
information shows up as text in the display, and you can switch between
the kind of information shown. Although you don't get RDS information
from all FM stations, you do from most.
A really useful feature of RDS is the ability to search automatically by
program type. So, if you felt like listening to jazz, you could search for a
station broadcasting a show with the program type "JAZZ." All the
different program types are listed below and include various genres of
music, news, sport, talk shows, financial information and so on.
The XR-MR7 gives you access to three kinds of RDS information: Radio
Text, Program Service Name and Program Type.
Radio Text (RT) is messages sent by the radio station. These can be
anything the broadcaster chooses—a talk radio station might give out
its telephone number as RT, for example.
Program Service Name (PS) is the name of the radio station.
Program Type (PTY) indicates the kind of program currently being
broadcast.

Utilisation du RDS

Introduction au Système RDS
Le RDS (Système de Données Radio) est utilisé par les stations de
radiodiffusion afin de fournir aux auditeurs diverses informations, telles
que le nom de la station ou le genre d'émission. Cette information
apparaît sous forme de message sur l'affichage et vous pouvez parcourir
les types d'informations ainsi fournies. Si toutes les stations FM ne
procurent pas ces informations RDS, la plupart le font.
Une fonction très pratique du système RDS, c'est la possibilité
d'effectuer une recherche automatique par type de programme. Si vous
voulez écouter du jazz, vous pouvez rechercher une station qui en émet
par le type de programme "JAZZ". Vous trouverez ci-dessous les divers
genres de programmes, tels que musique, informations, sports,
finances, etc.
Le XR-MR7 vous donne accès à trois sortes d'informations RDS: Texte
Radio, Nom de Service de Programme et Type de Programme.
