Electrical connection – Commissioning with factory settings

Connect 5 V DC voltage supply and, if necessary, switching input and RS 232
interface.

If necessary, connect BPS 8 with the KDS S-M12-5A-M12-5x-P1-xxx inter-
connection cable (accessory) to the MA 8.1 modular connection unit (RS 232
interface, accessory) or to the MA 8-xx modular connection unit (RS 485 in-
terface, accessory).

Switch on supply voltage ‑ the status LED must illuminate green.
Ä
Activate measurement via switching input or interface. The laser switches it-
self on.
Ä
At a distance of approx. 100 mm, move the BPS 8 past the bar code tape.
The device outputs the position data.
