13.2 Setting up the seating position
The seat, handlebars and stem must be adjusted
to your body mass and the desired sitting position
in order to use your FLYER safely and comfort-
ably .
Only allow your FLYER specialist retailer
to work on the handlebars and stem .
These are components which are crucial
for your safety, so incorrect work and
tools in this area of the bicycle could
lead to serious falls .
The seat and stem can be attached with
screw connections or quick-release fas-
teners . Always tighten the screw con-
nections with the correct torque . This
can be found in the enclosed technical
data on your FLYER .
Seat height
90° arm-upper body angle
In order to transfer the pedal force effectively to
the pedals, you must set your seat to the appro-
priate height .
Find the ideal position by sitting on the FLYER at
the vertical crank position and placing the heel of
your bare foot onto the pedal in its lowest position .
Now the bottom leg should be stretched . If this
is not the case, dismount, adjust the seat in the
required direction and try again .
Ensure that the quick-release fastener is com-
pletely closed after the adjustment process .
There are markings on the seat post
which show how far it can be pulled out
of the frame . Never pull the seat post be-
yond the maximum length marking. Oth-
erwise the seat post may buckle or
break . If you require a longer seat post
to reach the correct sitting position, talk
to your FLYER specialist retailer .
