IAGNOSIS
Batteries are weak
Excessive dirt or dust on IR Remote trans-
mitter lens or unit receiver lens
IR remote is outside of optimum transmitting
range
High sunlight conditions
Batteries are dead
Battery is installed incorrectly

EMEDY
Connect filter cap (Radio Shack #272-1085) in-line on B+ near
blower motor.
Connect a .1µf – .01µf non-polarized capacitor across switch
contacts
Check mounting angle of source unit (mount within ±20˚ from
horizontal) and repair as necessary
Check tightness of installation sleeve and back strap; repair or
replace as necessary
Check tightness of mounting screws and repair or replace as
necessary
Check connections and repair wiring as necessary
Check connections, run the RCA cables on a route away from
sources of high current
Check connections. Bypass all components between the Source
unit and the amplifier. Connect one component at a time to
determine the culprit. Repair or replace components as necessary
Disconnect speakers and connect a test speaker to the output
terminals or the source unit. If noise is gone, reroute the speaker
cables away from sources of high current
Check ground connections and connect amplifiers, signal processors,
and other components to a central location or try a different
grounding point on the chassis

EMEDY
Check battery condition and replace as necessary with (2) AAA
(+1.5 volt) batteries
Clean transmitter and receiver lens (compact disc logo) with
Plexiglas solution and a non-abrasive cloth as necessary
Operate IR remote within about 15 ft and ±45˚ from horizontal
of the Source unit' s faceplate
Operate IR remote closer to Source Unit
Check battery condition and replace as necessary with (2) AAA
(+1.5 volt) batteries
Check battery installation and repair as necessary (polarity is
indicated inside remote)
