The MP3 Screen
ROOT is the first level on any disc. Items in the ROOT level are listed in order, numerically then
alphabetically.When a disc is first inserted the system will look at the ROOT level, if there are songs
contained in the ROOT level, the system will start playing the first song it finds. Otherwise it will enter
into the first listed folder to locate the first song.
The systems plays songs first in any folder before moving into a folder or sub-folder.

- Shows the number of folders located in the Current Location.

- Shows the number of songs located in the Current Location.
3. PUNCH-EQ - Shows the current level Punch is set to.
4. TIME - Shows the elapsed time of the currently playing song.
5. TITLE - Shows the name of the currently playing song.
6. Current Location - Shows your current navigation position.
Selecting a Song or Folder
The MP3 file management system is a folder-based system similar to the
Windows™ File Manager.
Selection is made by;
1. Using ENTER (pressing the volume knob or ENT on remote) to select
into a highlighted folder or start playing a highlighted song.
2. Using
(DISC/PRESETS or down on remote joystick) to move down
through a list of folders or songs.
3. Using
(DISC/PRESETS or up on remote joystick) to move up
through a list of folders or songs.
{UP} or
{Down} buttons

in the folder, the first song in the next folder.The song will
automatically begin playing.
NOTE: The
{Down} button does not function like when in CD Play
mode. Pressing this button will always take you to the beginning of
the previous song when in MP3 mode.

Maximum Writing Speed and Bit Depth
The maximum speed of the CD ROM burner accepted by the RAV units is 40X.The maximum bit rate
range possible is 32kb/sec–320kb/sec. For best performance of scrolling display, before creating a file
system in your CDR burning program, select the CD layout properties menu and file system tabs. Use
JOLIET file format, this allows a maximum of 32 upper and lowercase characters.
NOTE: The display on the unit will scroll 32 characters of the song title from right to left.
NOTE: Make sure that when a MP3 CD is burned that it is formatted as a data disc and NOT as an audio
disc.
