USING THE ICE-BOX

Ice-box
This compartment is used to keep food frozen for a maximum of 2 weeks, and to make ice-
cubes.
Freezer
This compartment is used to keep food frozen, to freeze fresh products and to make ice-
cubes.
Do not freeze a large quantity of food at any one time (maximum of 1.5 kg/24h), as the faster
an item is frozen, the more it will keep its qualities. Similarly, make sure that you wrap your
foodstuffs before freezing, so that they retain their full flavour and do not spoil the other
products.
The conservation time for frozen food depends on the type of food. Refer to the instructions
on the packaging. Do not place bottles or drink cans in the ice-box as they can burst when
their contents freeze. Highly carbonated drinks can even explode! NEVER keep lemonade,
fruit juice, beer, wine, champagne, etc... in the ice-box/freezer compartment.

DEFROSTING

The defrosting system for the fridge is automatic. The inside rear face of the fridge is cove-
red with frost when the compressor operates and defrosts when it stops. When the ice melt
the water evaporates by itself.
The ice-box compartment
of frost reaches a thickness of about 4 mm. In any case, this compartment should be de-
frosted at least once a year.
When defrosting, you can use a scraper or other plastic implement, but NEVER a metal
instrument or electrical device.
1.
Switch off and disconnect the appliance.
2. Place your frozen food in a freezer bag and keep it cool.
3. Remove the plug from the melt water drain orifice and place a recipient underneath to
collect the melt water. To speed up the process, you can place a bowl of hot water inside
the compartment and close the door.
4. Once de-icing is completed, you can then clean your appliance.
