Patient Positioning

Patients should be positioned along the centre line of the mattress by aligning the patients nose
with the centre point of the head board. Ensure head and shoulders are supported to prevent neck
roll and pivoting at the hips during use.
For patients lying on their side, if they can self-support and they are in the middle of the bed, the
Toto lateral turning system can be used.
If patients cannot control their limbs and bed sides are being used, padding or net infills are
recommended.
