To combinate the flameproof enclosures with
bus-bar-boxes, all the seals between bus bar
boxes and/or also connection boxes shall be
inserted correctly. The parts can then be screwed
together using the screws provided (M8 x 25).
Also the stay washer and toothed disk have to
be used.
Excessive tightening can result in damage to
the flameproof enclosure or the terminal or
bus bar box.
6.1.1 Enclosure size 5
with thread hole M270
Optionally the housing size of 5 (430 x 430 x 329
mm) available with a threaded hole M270 is in
the housing bottom. At the threaded hole
operational funds with their own permission can
be flanged on.
Further flange plates, or similar mechanical
shut-off positions with this thread can be
brought in.
A volume increase housing volumes may not
result from it.
So that the housing and the flanged on
operational funds, and/or flange plates cannot
rotate etc., the thread must become secured
M270 with suitable measures (e.g. to stick
together o.ae).

Opening/closing the devices
Fig 1:
To open a flameproof enclosure without switch,
the interlocking screw, item 3, in the cover cam
of the cover stop has to be unscrewed. The
cover, item 2, can then be removed from the
base, item 1, by turning it anticlockwise.
Fig 2:
To open a flameproof enclosure with switch (see
Fig. 2), the switch shall be switched off at the
switch toggle, item 4. Then the screw in the
bore-hole of the switch toggle, item 3, can be
turned until idling, after which the cover, item 2,
can be removed from the base, item 1, by
turning it anticlockwise.
Warning: The cover shall be safeguarded
against falling off.
Any foreign matter shall be removed from the
apparatus.
For reasoning the cover of the pressure resistant
housing must be put on correct on the housing
lower part (if necessarily covers to turn to the
left).
Before screwing in the cover thread is to be
greased. Preferably with type of fat:
Renocal FN 745/94,
Renolit Unitemp 2,
Synthetic-based Sodium complex grease NLGI 2.
Strongly resistant to ageing and water wash off.
Good mechanical stability.
Temperature range: -50 °C to +180 °C,
over short time spans: -50 °C to 200 °C

The cover of the enclosure have to be turned
down clockwise into the cover-base, till the
stop.
To fixing of the enclosure-cover, the fixing-screw
(Pos.3, Pic 1&2), or the switch in the enclo-
sure-cover, have to be used.

Putting into operation

Before putting the apparatus into operation,
the tests specified in the individual national
regulations shall be performed.
In addition to this, before being put into
operation, the correct functioning of the
apparatus and of the built-in components
(measuring instruments, signal lamps,
pushbuttons, etc.) shall be checked in
accordance with these operating instructions
and other applicable regulations.
Warning: Only certified apparatus may be
put into operation.
Pay additional attention at versions
"... Ex d ... IIC Gb":
If the Explosion-protected flameproof
enclosures interior temperatures under
-20 °C the system mustn´t be operated.
If lower temperatures are present, the
Explosion-protected flameproof enclo-
sures must become pre-heated with a
suitable certified heating on over -20 °C.
If an uncertified heating is used to
pre-heat the flameproof enclosures inside
temperature on over -20 °C,explosive
atmosphere mustn´t to be present.

Maintenance / Servicing
The relevant national regulations which apply
to the maintenance/repair of electrical
apparatus in explosive atmospheres, will
have to be observed (IEC/EN 60079-17).
Before opening the enclosure make sure that
the apparatus is disconnected from the
voltage, or take the appropriate protective
measures.
The necessary intervals between servicing
depend upon the specific application and shall be
stipulated by the operator according to the
respective operating conditions.
1. Flameproof enclosures
Visual inspection of the cover thread.
The thread shall not be treated or varnished!
Any damaged parts shall be replaced immediate-
ly using original parts or the damaged parts shall
be repaired by the manufacturer.
2. Connection and bus bar boxes
Check all seals for efficiency and intactness.
Replace older or damaged seals with new seals.
Check that connection terminals and cable
entries fit securely.
If, in the course of servicing, it is ascertained,
that repairs are necessary, section 8 of these
operating instructions shall be observed.

Repairs / Overhaul /
Modifications
Only original Cooper Crouse-Hinds / CEAG parts
shall be used for carrying out repairs that
concern the explosion protection.
In the event of damage to the flameproof
encapsulation, replacement of these
components is mandatory. In case of doubt,
the respective apparatus shall be sent to
Cooper Crouse-Hinds / CEAG for repair
(IEC/EN 60079-19).
Reconstruction or modifications to apparatus
are only possible within the scope of the
approvals and shall be certified afterwards.
Moreover, additional terminals within the scope
of the apparatus approvals and cables entries
according to the details given by the manufactur-
er may be fitted.
9
Disposal / Recycling
The respective valid national regulations for
waste disposal shall be observed when
disposing of apparatus.
The product range is subject to changes and
additions.
