5 START-UP
5.1 Safety
IMPORTANT!
Risk of flooding!
In the event of faults in the
pump,water can escape
and cause consequential
damage due to flooding.
■
Take appropriate meas-
ures to avoid con-
sequential damage
caused by flooding in
the event of faults in the
pump.
■
Operate the pump suspended
from a cable.
■
Operate the pump only when
it is fully immersed.
■
Always observe sufficient dis-
tance to the base of the shaft
(min. 1 m).
■
Never allow the pump to run
against a closed pressure
line.
■
When using in shafts, make
sure the size is adequate.
■
Always cover the shaft with a
secure foot-plate.
5.2
Dismantling the pump base (04)
In order to operate the pump in a narrow shaft of
min. 100 mm diameter, the pump base base
must be removed.
1. Unscrew (04/a) both fastening screws (04/1)
of the pump base (04/2).
2. Remove (04/b) pump base (04/2) from the
pump (04/3).

6 OPERATION
6.1
Lowering the pump
When lowering and pulling up the pump in a
shaft, make sure that the mains supply cable is
not subject to tensile stress and that no objects
fall into the shaft. These can jam between the
pump housing and shaft wall so that the pump
cannot be pulled up again.
6.2
Switching the pump on
IMPORTANT!
Danger of damage to the
pump!
The pump must not draw
in any solid material. Sand
and other abrasive materi-
als in the pumped medium
will destroy the pump.
■
Ensure that no solids
can enter the pumped
medium.
1. Completely unwind the mains cable.
2. Ensure that electrical plug connections are
located in the area safe from flooding.
3. Insert the mains plug into the power socket.
6.3
Switching the pump off
1. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket.
