5.9 Testing detectors mains supply
G
Ensure that you position the control panel in the normal mode (wall-
mounted).
G
Simulate a domestic problem.
❍
flooding:
immerse both probe contacts. The probe will detect flooding 2 seconds
later.
❍
deep freezer failure:
place the probe in the freezer for roughly 1 hour to ensure it is at the
same temperature as the food (-18°C).
Take the probe out of the freezer. Ten minutes later the probe tempera-
ture will rise to -12°C and detect a freezer failure.
mains supply:
❍
leave the plug and socket unit plugged in for 1/4 hour and then unplug it
in order to simulate an electricity cut. 18 min ± 20% or 5 hours ± 20%
later (as configured) the probe will detect a mains supply.
❍
minimum temperature probe:
the detector must not be fixed for this test as the probe has to be
moved.
Immerse the probe in the deep-freeze part of the refrigerator.
The probe detects frost for temperatures under +5°C.
G
When a problem occurs on a domestic device, the detector emits a
series of 4 audible bips. If the problem persists, it then re-emits at 90
second intervals 4 audible bips followed by 4 bips on the control panel.
GB
The audible bips emitted by the detector will help you locate the type of
problem that has occurred.
G
Put the probes back in their final position.
Proceed as follows:
❍
for the flooding probe
wipe it and put it back on its metal plate.
❍
for the deep freezer failure probe
put the probe back in the freezer: the problem will disappear as soon as
the temperature falls back down to -14°C.
❍
for the mains supply probe
plug the plug and socket unit back into the wall socket.
❍
for the minimum temperature probe
take the probe out of the refrigerator: the problem will disappear as
soon as the temperature rises to +7°C.
❍
You can consult the alarm memory on the control panel by pressing
OFF on the remote control. You will hear the normal OFF signal follo-
wed by 3 bips, and the light indicators will light up on the control panel.
❍
We recommend that you delete the control panel's memory by an
arm/disarm after the detector test.
G
Once the detector has been installed, you can plug in the tele-
phone dialer again.
6 ARMING AND DISARMING
FIG. G
The detector is automatically armed once the battery has been connec-
ted.
G
For probe maintenance purposes, you can disable domestic dama-
ge transmission by arming or disarming the detector (front panel clo-
sed).
❍
Briefly press the test button:
- if the green light indicator flashes (2 seconds), the detector is wor-
king.
- if the red light indicator flashes (2 seconds), the detector is not wor-
king.
❍
Briefly press its test button twice to pass from one state to the other.
❍
The maintenance finished, take care to arm the detector.
NB: whether or not the detector is armed, if you hold down the test but-
ton the control panel will respond with a series of audible bips and the
light indicator will not come on (control panel in normal mode).
7 CHANGING THE BATTERY
G
Automatic check of battery state:
❍
the control panel memorises the state of the domestic damage
detector batteries and indicates any possible problem when the break-
in protection is armed by a series of audible signals and flashing light
indicators (consult the dead battery section in your system's use guide).
G
Manual test:
❍
you can test the state of the detector battery by pressing the detector
test button. If the red light indicator does not come on, the battery
needs to be changed.
G
Change the battery as follows:
❍
to avoid triggering an alarm when you open the front panel (tamper-
proof function against opening*), press OFF on the remote control
when you open the detector.
❍
Change the battery, press the test button (2 seconds). The red light
indicator comes on indicating that the battery is OK and the detector is
working.
* The detector is tamper-proofed. If opened, it triggers the entire securi-
ty system whether or not the system is armed.
NB: the programming of the installation radio code is preserved when
you change the battery.
