G Operating instructions
Ceiling motion detector 360°
Item no. 1362919
Intended use
The PIR motion detector integrated in the PIR sensor responds to temperature changes
within the detection range, e.g. if a person, a big animal or a car enters the detection area.
Because of this, the motion detector can serve for monitoring of entrances, stairs etc.
The output of the motion detector can, for example, be used for controlling a light or another
power using device.
Furthermore, there is a second relay with potential-free output. It can be used for controlling
e.g. a second light. Please refer to the section "Connection" and "Technical data".
Any other use than that described above may damage the product. Moreover, this may give
rise to hazards such as short-circuiting, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may
be modified or converted!
Always observe the safety instructions included in these operating instructions. Please read
the operating instructions carefully and store them.
This product complies with the applicable National and European requirements. All names

The product is suitable for use outdoors (please observe mounting position!).
Safety instructions
R ead the complete operating manual carefully before using the product as it
contains important information about the correct installation and operation.
T he warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential
damage!
N or do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will
be void in such cases!
Caution!
T he product may only be installed by a qualified technician (e.g. electrician)
who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German electrical wiring
regulations)!
I mproper work, carried out on the mains voltage, endangers not only your own
life but also the life of others!
I f you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it
yourself but ask a qualified technician.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed
for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There is
the risk of a fatal electric shock!
• The product may only be operated on the mains voltage (see section "Con-
nection" and "Technical data"). Never try to operate the product at another
voltage as this will cause its destruction.
• On the installation side, an all-pole separation unit from the mains power must
be present (for example, surge guard).
• The product complies with IP44; it can be mounted and operated in indoor and
outdoor areas. When mounted outdoors, the correct operating location must
be observed (see chapter "Installation").
• Only use the product when it is firmly mounted/steady.
• Do not use the motion detector in spaces or under adverse ambient conditions,
where combustible gases, vapours or dust are, or may, be present! There is a
risk of explosion!
• Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or strong
mechanical stress.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, discon-
nect the product immediately and secure it against accidental operation. Let an
expert check the product.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work at all or well (flickering light, leaking smoke or a
smell of burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or
the adjacent surfaces.)
- it was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long time or
- if it was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the
employer's liability insurance association for electrical systems and operating
facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please con-
tact our technical service or another specialist.
Preparations for installation
Observe the section "Safety instructions"!
• Keep a minimum distance of at least 1 m to lights and other heat sources in order to avoid
functional problems or faulty switching.
• Only install the motion detector on a stable surface. Only use the motion detector when it
is firmly mounted.
• The motion detector can be mounted indoors and outdoors underneath a horizontal sur-
face (e. g. ceiling). Alternatively, it also can be mounted on a vertical wall. However, pay
attention to the correct mounting position: The arrow marking " UP" must be vertically
pointing upwards.
• The motion detector must be voltage-free during installation. Turn off the power supply by
removing the corresponding electric circuit fuse or switch of the circuit breaker. Secure
it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign.
In addition, turn off the fault current circuit breaker so that all poles of mains power are
shut down.
• Check that the mains connection is current free with a suitable tester.
Functioning of the motion detector
The PIR-motion detector integrated in the motion detector responds to temperature chan-
ges within the detection range, e.g. if a person, an animal or a car enters the detection area
whose temperature is different from the background.
To ensure optimal motion detection, the motion detector must be placed so that the object
to be detected does not approach the motion detector directly but passes from left to right
or vice versa. Mind this, when installing the product.
The range for the detection of a motion depends on several factors (example in the illust-
ration: Mounting height 2.4 m, Ø approx. 16 m on the floor):
• Mounting height of the motion detector
• Temperature difference between the moving
object and the background (environment)
• Size of the object
• Distance of the object from the motion detector
• Direction and speed of the movement
• Ambient temperature
After switching on the mains voltage, it takes about 60 seconds until the PIR sensor has
adjusted to the background temperature and is able to recognise changes in temperature
within the detection area.
The detection range can be limited by mounting the cover included in the delivery above the
diffusion panel of the motion detector. Alternatively, you can use non-transparent adhesive
tape to cover the diffusion panel.
In the event of a motion detection, a blue LED lights up inside the diffusion panel.
The two relays will be activated for the preset time respectively ("TIME 1" or
"TIME 2"). If a new motion is detected during the on-time, the time for the on-time
starts again.
If the relay for the connection D1/D2 is deactivated, the blue LED flashes slowly to
indicate the functionality (standby).
A red LED within the diffusion panel indicates that one or both relays are activa-
ted.
