appliance sufficient time to cool down
before preparing popcorn for the first time.
Intermittent operation
This popcorn maker is not designed for
continuous operation. It should not be
operated for more than 5 minutes at a time,
after which it must be switched off for about
10 minutes to cool down.
Thermal safety cut-out
The integral thermal safety cut-out protects
the appliance from overheating, for instance
when extended use causes an overload. The
appliance will automatically resume
operation when allowed to cool down
sufficiently.
Operation
- Place the lid on the main unit.
- Fill the measuring cup with a suitable
quantity of popcorn kernels.
Only kernels suitable for making
popcorn should be used. Do not put any
other ingredients (oil, fat, salt, sugar etc)
into the heating insert.
- Fill the kernels the through the lid
opening so that they slide down into the
heating insert.
- Close the lid opening by placing the
measuring cup with the curved section
facing down into the opening.
- Place a container big enough for the
corresponding quantity of popcorn
expected underneath the chute.
- Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet.
- Press the on/off switch to turn the
appliance on.
- The average processing time for a
portion of popcorn is around 3-5 minutes.
- After processing, switch the appliance
off, take the plug out of the wall socket
and remove any remaining kernels.
Practical hints
- Once the popcorn is done, some melted
butter or margarine – seasoned with
herbs if desired - may be poured over the
popcorn.
- If a large proportion of the kernels have
not 'popped', the kernels are either too
old or not suitable for making popcorn.
General care and cleaning
Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is
disconnected from the power supply and
has cooled down completely.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the appliance with water and do
not immerse it in water.
Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
- The main unit, measuring cup and lid
may be wiped clean with a damp cloth
and a mild detergent.
Disposal
Do not dispose of old or defective
appliances in domestic garbage,
but only through public collection
points.
