If doubt exists about the performance of the rope (e.g. localised stiffness), follow the care in-
structions included in the product specific User Instructions and thoroughly inspect the rope
again.
If any doubt exists about rope safety either:
a) remove it from service and place it in quarantine for further inspection; or
b) remove it from service and cut it into short enough lengths so that it can not be used again.
In all cases, remove a Tachyon™ or Braided Safety Blue™ climbing line from service:
if any concern arises about abrasion damage or any other material damage or physical
characteristic;
if the mantle/cover is ruptured;
if it has been used to arrest a fall.
WARNING
Under no circumstances use climbing lines for rigging operations.
Splice Inspection
In order to inspect a splice, it is necessary to understand how it has been made. Details of splice
techniques used for Tachyon™ and Braided Safety Blue™ can be found online: http://www.nero-

The eye termination, and the first few metres of rope, are likely to experience accelerated wear
compared to other sections of rope. Use the assessment criteria for the rope when inspecting
the eye termination for cuts, abrasion and heat damage. Remove the constriction band before
inspecting the eye so that all parts can be checked, both inside and out.
Note: The core of Braided Safety Blue™ is removed in the eye. Allow for this difference in tactile
and visual inspections.
