2. INSTALLATION

All installation operations must be carried out at temperatures
above -10 °C and below 45 °C to avoid any possible damage
to the materials. In case of temperatures below 0 °C, store
the materials (pipes and fittings) at a higher temperature
before use.
2.1 Removal of packaging from the pipe
Pay attention to not
damage the pipe when
removing the packaging
tape from the roll.
• For insulated pipe, make sure you do not cut into insulat-
ing sheath.
YES

2.2 Surface mounted installation

• In surface mounted installations, in false ceilings, in the
gaps of dry wall systems (e.g. plasterboard) and in shafts,
the pipes must be adequately secured with suitable collars
placed at a distance of no more than a certain value that
depends on the size of the pipe, to prevent the weight
resting on the press fittings, which can cause damage.
Correct bracketing can also be useful during installation as
it prevents the weight of the pipes causing rotation of the
elbow unions when these join two sections of pipe located
on a non-vertical plane and one of the two sections is not
yet connected to the rest of the system.
• Maximum distance "S" for bracketing surface mounted
pipes (see following figure):

2.3 Surface embedded installation

• In surface embedded installations, the pipes must be
suitably secured with ties and there must be a minimum
distance between them of 80 cm on straight lengths, and
placed 30 cm before and after each bend.
For this type of installation it is preferable to lay insu-
lated pipe that has a foam sheath covering or pass the pipe
through flexible tubing.
• Press fittings: in laying concealed piping, the press
fittings must be protected from corrosion that can result
from contact with chemicals contained in plasters and
mortars.
It is possible to use boxing, adhesive tapes specifi-
cally adapted for such applications, or coverings in an
expanded plastic material that has been adequately
sealed.
