5. Installation

Warning:
- The electrical installation must be carried out by a skilled electrical engineer with the
relevant training and qualifications.
- Disconnect the power supply before carrying out work on the unit.
- The power unit of the ionizing air nozzle, and the shielding of any high-voltage cable,
must be properly earthed. Earthing is needed to ensure proper operation of the
equipment and to avoid electrical shocks upon contact.
- Refer to the manual for the associated power unit for details of how to correctly and
safely connect the ionising air nozzle.
- The power unit for the ionising air nozzle must be properly earthed. Earthing is needed
to ensure proper operation of the equipment and to avoid electrical shocks upon
contact.
- The air outlet of the nozzle must be installed at a minimum distance of 2 cm from
metal parts. Metal parts in the immediate vicinity of the ionising pin reduce the
ionising effect of the nozzle.
- Do not kink the high-voltage cable and do not bend it sharply when laying it, as this
can damage the cable.

5.1. Prior check

- Check that the nozzle is free from damage.
- Check that the details on the packing slip correspond to the details of the product received.
If you have any problems and/or doubts, please contact Simco-Ion or the agent in your region.

5.2. Fitting the nozzle

Note:
- The area of the material being neutralised must not be touched by any other materials.
Contact with other materials reduces the neutralising effect.
- The nozzle may be fitted in any position.
The best results are achieved when the nozzle is fitted at an angle of 45°– 90° in
relation to the material.
- Fit the nozzle directly in front of the area where static electricity causes problems.
- Ensure that as much of the air flow as possible touches the material to be neutralised.
- Fit the nozzle at a distance of 50–300 mm from the material to be neutralised.
- Use the assembly holes in the nozzle to install it.
