Thank you for choosing EKOPOWER, the ideal pump to create waterfalls and streams in your ornamental pond.
EN
EKOPOWER can be attached to pressurized external filters, with or without UVC lamps, to filter your pond. The
modern design makes EKOPOWER simple to use and easy to maintain, EKOPOWER's threaded inlet and outlet
can be connected to a variety of fittings and standard accessories that are available in the market.
EKOPOWER is made in conformity with the national and international security laws.
To appreciate and make the most out of your new filter pump, please read and follow these instructions carefully.
1) Always isolate the filter pump from the mains electricity before installing or carrying out any maintenance. Power to the pump must be
supplied through a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA.
2) The filter pump can work only submersed in water and has been designed for pond applications. Lack of water could seriously damage
the pump inside the case.
3) Before connecting the filter pump to the electricity supply check if there are any damages on cord or plug.
4) The filter pump has a Z type cable link. The cable and the plug cannot be substituted, cut or repaired; in case of damage replace
the entire pump.
5) ATTENTION: do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is malfunctioning, or if it has been dropped or
damaged in any way.
6) Never operate the filter pump without water inside the impeller chamber or with liquids at a temperature higher than 95° F/35° C.
7) Do not use the filter pump with corrosive and abrasive liquids.
8) Do not use the pump for uses different to those for which it has been designed.
9) The filter pump cannot be used by people with handicaps or by children if they are not supervised by a person responsible for their
safety.
10) Avoid taking the filter pump by the cord during the installation or maintenance.
11) Do not use the filter pump in case of iced pond . We suggest to take it out of the pond during winter time.
INSTALLATION
To install the filter pump, proceed as follows:
Before connecting the filter pump to the electricity supply check there are any damages on cord or plug. Open the filter case by uncoupling
the two hooks. Take out all accessories from inside the filter (Fig.A). Remove the pump: turn it 180° (Fig. B1/B2), insert the flow
regulator into the inlet, with the opening facing upward (Fig. C), then insert the pump's outlet inside the hole in the filter housing (Fig. D)
and then reposition the pump in its seat (Fig. E).
Apply a slight pressure to the pump to insert it properly in its seat, making sure that the outlet's ring is perfectly centered in the case's
hole (Fig. F).
ATTENTION: the pump's cable must be positioned in its seat in the lower case before closing it, to avoid damage (Fig. G).
Close the filter case pressing the two hooks.
Insert the O-Rings (included) in the 3-steps treaded fitting and in the ball joint (Fig. H1/H2). Afterwards, connect the ball joint to the outlet
of the pump and then screw the treaded fitting to the ball joint (Fig.H2). As an alternative you can use only the 3-steps treaded fitting,
connecting it directly to the outlet of the pump. Only 1 3-steps treaded fitting is included, the second one is optional.
Connect the flexible tube to the treaded fitting, securing it with a clamp.
If you wish to connect an accessory to the pump's inlet, unscrew the lid on the flow regulator and screw the accessory on the pump's
inlet fitting. (Fig.I).
Immerse EKOPOWER in water, making sure that the perforated part faces upwards. Tubes connected must be positioned flat, to avoid
tangles during the water flowing.
The cable must be positioned in a safe place, where it cannot be damaged in any way.
Connect device to power, making sure that the voltage on the pump's label corresponds to the voltage of the electricity supply.
The pump's water flow can be adj u sted operati n g on the flow regul a tor from outsi d e of the fil t er housi n g (Fig. F).
MAINTENANCE
EKOPOWER requires a simple, but necessary, periodical maintenance to perform in the best way. Proceed as follows: always isolate the
filter pump from the mains electricity before installing or carrying out any maintenance.
1) Take out the filter pump from the pond.
2) Disconnect the pump's treaded fitting.
3) Take out the pump, separate the volute 3 from the pump's body 1 unscrewing the screws 4, rinse all under fresh water.
4) Take out the whole rotor 2 and rinse it under fresh water, using a soft brush to remove eventual buildup. To help cleaning, use also
vinegar.
