MATERIALS
A 1 Towbar Drop Plate with European facing to 94/20/EC – A50-1
B 1 Coupling Packer
C 2 Side Arms (1 off each hand)
D 2 M12 x 100mm Bolts and Lock Washers
D1 1 Spreader Plate
E 2 M10 x 110mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm O.D.)
F 2 M12 x 35mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers
CB 2 M16 x 65mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers
Z 1 ZEP35 Electrical Plate (not shown)
FITTING
1. Loosely attach Towbar Drop Plate (A) to the mounting points on the transverse rear box section with Bolts (D),
using Spreader Plate (D1).
2. Remove the towing eyes and loosely attach Side Arms (C) to mounting points on chassis with Bolts (E) and to
the Drop Plate (A) with Bolts (F).
3. Finally, Tighten all Bolts.
NOTES:
Two holes are provided in the forward end of items (C). For normal fitting use forwardmost hole. When fitting to a
Discovery with a drop down step, use the rearmost hole.
A 10mm thick Packing Piece (B) is provided for use to ensure adequate clearance between the towball and the towbar.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1X or Z1E) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball
dimensionally conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm , M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
