-
Replace the tilt-indicator protection tubes, in the case of RETs Tube. To do this, insert
each tube into the two slots and once firmly seated, turn clockwise to lock the tube into
place. The remote tilt control function will not work if these transparent tubes are not
present and locked into place over the tilt indicator bar.
-
Remove the plug from the male AISG connector on the MDCU and connect the control
cable (This cable is from the MHA, Smart Bias Tee or RRH if the control signals are routed
through a coaxial feeder, or directly from the separate or integrated AISG controller on the
base station).
-
Fasten the connector sufficiently (hand-tight only).
-
Check that the other plug is suitably secure (hand-tight only). This second AISG connector -
female - should only be used if another antenna RET (MDCU) is to be connected in daisy
chain fashion.)
10 Other recommendation
-
If an MDCU is removed from an antenna, you must reinstall the protection cover plate on
the MDCU socket.
-
An MDCU only works properly when powered up once it has been installed inside the
antenna. If the MDCU is installed into an antenna while connected to power via the AISG
cable, it will not detect the internal RETs in the antenna. Such practice is not destructive,
but requires that the power be disconnected from the MDCU and then reconnected in
order to restore proper operation.
