2. Allgemeine Produktbeschreibung
Die Titan-hyrax
Schraube (Hygienic Rapid Expansion Screw) ist eine
®
Spezialdehnschraube für die schnelle Gaumennahterweiterung. Diese
GNE-Schraube aus Titan wird mittels ihrer Retentionsarme an sog.
Kappenschienen aus Titan (Fig. 1) geschweißt. Alternativ können sie auch
in Kunststoffschienen aus Orthocryl
(Fig. 2) einpolymerisiert werden. Die
®
Apparatur mit den Schienen aus Titan oder Kunststoff wird in üblicher
Weise zementiert.
3. Anwendungsgebiet
Für die schnelle Gaumennahterweiterung mit Hilfe einer festsitzenden
Apparatur.
4. Herstellung der Titan-hyrax
Apparatur
®
Die Retentionsarme können an die individuell gegossene Titan-
Kappenschiene gelasert oder in Kunststoffschienen aus Orthocryl
einpolymerisiert werden.
Die Titan-hyrax
Schraube soll „freischwebend" 1 - 2 mm über dem
®
Gaumendach der Gingiva liegen (Fig. 3), ihre dorsale Seite soll mit
den mesio-palatinalen Höckern der 1. Molaren eine Linie bilden. Um
Hebelwirkungen zu vermeiden, ist auf parallele Lage zur Okklusions-
ebene zu achten. Um das Einführen des Sicherheitsschlüssels bzw. das
Aktivieren der Schraube zu erleichtern, wird die Titan-hyrax
mit der Drehrichtung nach dorsal eingebaut (Fig. 1 - 3).
5. Verarbeitungstipps für Titan-hyrax
Schrauben
®
Zum einfachen und schonenden Biegen der Retentionsarme der
Titan-hyrax
Schraube empfehlen wir den Universal-Biegeschlüssel
®
(REF 611-122-00, Fig. 6) ohne Verwendung zusätzlicher Zangen
(Hebelgesetz). Liegt dieser nicht vor, müssen die Retentionsarme
beim Biegen am Dehnschrauben-Körper mit einer stabilen Zange, z. B.
Kramponzange Maxi (REF 013-522-00), gegengehalten werden, um
einer Bruchgefahr der Retentionsarme vorzubeugen (Fig. 5).
Für eine dauerhafte Schweißverbindung müssen die Retentionsarme
der Titan-hyrax
Schraube an die Kappenschiene angeschweißt werden.
®
(Fig. 1 und 3). Z. B. mit dem Schweißgerät desktop Compact (REF
090-578-50). Die initiale Lasereinstellung für dieses Gerät, als Mittelwert
für Titan, lautet wie folgt: 230 Volt, 2,0 – 2,3 ms, 0,8 mm. Die Nutzung
von Schutzgas ist für den Schweißvorgang unabdingbar. Bei Anwendung
oder Zugabe von neuem Material um die Schweißstelle zu verstärken
empfehlen wir den rematitan
Draht, ø 0,40 mm (REF 528-039-50, Fig. 7).

6. Angaben zur Zusammensetzung
Die Zusammensetzung entnehmen Sie bitte der Werkstoffliste, siehe
Katalog bzw. www.dentaurum.com.
7. Sicherheitshinweise
Immer nur den mitgelieferten blauen Sicherheitsschlüssel verwenden, um
ein Verschlucken zu verhindern!
Sollten auf einen oder mehrere der Inhaltsstoffe allergische Reaktionen
bekannt sein, darf das Produkt nicht angewendet werden.
8. Hinweise für Produkte zum einmaligen Gebrauch
Das Produkt ist nur zur einmaligen Verwendung vorgesehen. Die Wieder-
aufbereitung eines einmal benutzten Produktes (Recycling) sowie dessen
erneute Anwendung am Patienten ist nicht zulässig.

Hinweise für den Behandler/Patienten
Vor dem Einzementieren der Titan-hyrax
®
Apparatur ist die Spindel
(Schraube) 2 - 3 Vierteldrehungen in Pfeilrichtung zu öffnen, um die
Funktion zu testen und wieder in Ausgangsstellung zurückzudrehen.
Die Titan-hyrax
®
Schraube ist nur in Pfeilrichtung zu aktivieren. Ein
mehrmaliges Auf- und Zudrehen der Schraube während der Behandlung
kann dazu führen, dass diese zu leichtgängig wird und ihre Funktion
verliert.
Die fertige Titan-hyrax
Apparatur mit Schienen wird in gewohnter Weise
®
einzementiert. Die Herstellerangaben des Zements sind zu beachten.
Danach wird die Schraube mit dem mitgelieferten Sicherheitsschlüssel
(REF 611-120-01, Fig. 8) 4x um 90 ° gedreht. Eine Spindelumdrehung
= 0,80 mm Dehnung.
Der Patient dreht nach Ihren Anweisungen morgens und abends die
Schraube selbst je 2x um 90 ° weiter, bis die von Ihnen gewünschte
Drehung erreicht ist.
Achtung: Immer nur den mitgelieferten blauen Sicherheitsschlüssel (Fig. 8)
verwenden, um ein Verschlucken zu verhindern!
Der Sicherheitsschlüssel ist für Kräfte bis max. 35 N
ausgelegt. Trotzdem ist darauf zu achten, dass die auf den Draht des
Sicherheitsschlüssels ausgeübte Kraft stets auf die geschlossene Seite der
Drahtklammer wirkt, so dass sich die Klammer nicht von der Achse lösen
kann. Bei einer unsachgemäßen Anwendung ist eine Überbelastung
möglich. Ein daraus resultierendes Versagen des Sicherheitsschlüssels
kann zum Ausschluss von Gewährleistung und Haftung führen.
Regelmäßige Kontrollbesuche sind zu empfehlen.
Die Titan-hyrax
®
Apparatur wird nach Erreichen der gewünschten
Dehnung durch eine Ligatur oder Verblocken mit Kunststoff gegen
unbeabsichtigtes Zurückdrehen gesichert und noch ca. 2-3 Monate zur
Stabilisierung im Mund belassen.
Nach Entfernung derselben wird eine Retentionsplatte getragen.
Sollten auf einen oder mehrere der Inhaltsstoffe allergische
Reaktionen bekannt sein, darf das Produkt nicht angewendet
werden.
Sollten dem Anwender und/oder Patienten im Zusammenhang
mit der Anwendung des Produktes auftretende schwerwiegende
Vorfälle zur Kenntnis gelangen, sind diese dem Hersteller und
der zuständigen Behörde des Staates, in dem der Anwender und/
oder der Patient niedergelassen ist, zu melden.

2. General product description
The Titan hyrax
screw (Hygienic Rapid Expansion) is a special
®
expansion screw for rapid palatal expansion. The retention legs of this
titanium expansion screw are welded onto titanium cap splints (Fig. 1).
Alternatively they can also be polymerized into Orthocryl
(Fig. 2). The appliance with the titanium or acrylic splints is cemented in
the conventional manner.

Used for rapid palatal expansion with a fixed appliance.
4. Fabrication of the Titan hyrax

The retention legs can be lasered onto individually cast titanium cap
splints or polymerized into Orthocryl
acrylic splints.

The Titan hyrax
screw should be "suspended" 1–2 mm above the palatal
®
vault of the gingiva (Fig. 3) and its dorsal side should be in line with
the mesio-palatal cusps of the first molars. In order to avoid leverage,
®
it must be situated parallel to the occlusal plane. The Titan hyrax
is positioned so that it may be turned in a dorsal direction (Fig. 1-3) in
order to make the task of inserting the safety key and activating the
screw easier.
5. Tips for working with Titan hyrax
In order to bend the retention legs of the Titan hyrax
easily, we recommend using the universal bending key (REF 611-122-00,
®
Schraube
Fig. 6) without the aid of pliers (lever principle). If this is not available,
the retention legs must be stabilized by holding the expansion screw
body with a pair of sturdy pliers, e.g. wire bending pliers Maxi (REF 013-
522-00), in order to prevent the retention legs from fracturing (Fig. 5).
For the connection to be durable, the retention legs of
the Titan hyrax
screw must be welded to the cap splint,
®
(Fig. 1 and 3), for example using the welding unit desktop Compact (REF
090-578-50). As an average value for titanium, the initial laser setting
on the unit is as follows: 230 volt, 2.0 – 2.3 ms, 0.8 mm. The use of a
shielding gas is indispensable during the welding process. When using
or adding new material to reinforce the welding area, we recommend
rematitan
wire, ø 0.40 mm (REF 528-039-50, Fig. 7).

7. Safety information
Always use the blue safety key supplied to prevent swallowing.
The product should not be used if there is a known allergic reaction to
one or more of the material components.
8. Information for single use products
The product is intended for single use only. Reconditioning of a product
that has already been used (recycling) and its reuse on a patient is not
permitted.

Information for the doctor/patient
Before the Titan hyrax
®
appliance is cemented into position, open the
spindle (screw) by making 2-3 quarter turns in the direction of the arrow
to test the mobility. Then turn back to the original position.
Turn the Titan hyrax
®
screw only in the direction of the arrow. Opening
and closing the screw several times during treatment can cause it to
loosen and no longer function properly.
The finished Titan hyrax
appliance is cemented into position with
®
splints in the usual manner. Follow the instructions from the cement
manufacturer.
Following this, the screw is turned four times 90° using the key (REF
611-120-01, Fig. 8) supplied for this purpose. One full 360° turn of the
spindle = 0.80 mm expansion.
The patient should turn the screw two times 90° both in the morning and
evening (according to your in structions) until the desired turn is achieved.
Note: Always use the blue safety key (Fig. 8) supplied to avoid accidental
swallowing.
The safety key is designed to take a maximum force of 35 N
≙
3,5 kg
kg. Please note that the force exerted on the safety key wire should
always be exerted on the closed side of the wire clasp so that the clasp
cannot loosen from the axis. Improper use may lead to overload and
consequently to failure of the safety key, thus potentially excluding any
guarantee and liability.
Regular visits are recommended to monitor progress.
The Titan hyrax
appliance is secured against unwanted reversing,
®
after the desired degree of expansion is achieved, by fitting a ligature
or blocking with acrylic. The appliance should remain in the mouth for
approximately 2 - 3 months for stabilization purposes.
A retainer should be worn following removal of the appliance.
The product should not be used if there is a known allergic
reaction to one or more of the material components.
Should the user and/or the patient become aware of serious
problems arising from the use of the product, it is important that
the manufacturer and the competent authority in the country
in which the user and/or the patient is resident is informed
accordingly.

doit « flotter » d'env. 1 à 2 mm au-dessus de la
voûte palatine de la gencive (fig. 3) et sa partie dorsale doit former une
ligne avec les cuspides mésio-palatines des 1ères molaires. Bien veiller
au parallélisme de l'appareil par rapport au plan d'occlusion, afin de
prévenir tout effet de levier. Pour faciliter l'introduction de la clé de sûreté

5. Conseils pour la mise en œuvre des vis Titan hyrax
Pour un cintrage plus facile et moins agressif des bras de rétention de
la vis Titan hyrax
, nous recommandons la clé de cintrage universelle
®
(REF 611-122-00, fig. 6) et ce, sans user de pinces supplémentaires
(effet de levier). Si celle-ci n'est pas disponible, maintenez les bras de
rétention - lors du cintrage au niveau du corps de l'écarteur - avec une
pince robuste, p. ex. la pince à crampons Maxi (REF 013-522-00) afin de
prévenir tout risque de rupture des bras de rétention (fig. 5).
Pour une soudure durable, les bras de rétention de la vis Titan
hyrax
doivent être soudés à la gouttière pleine de fixation.
®
(Fig. 1 et 3). p. ex. avec la soudeuse desktop Compact (REF
090-578-50). Le réglage initial de cet appareil, en tant que valeur
moyenne pour le titane, se présente comme suit : 230 Volt, 2,0 – 2,3
ms, 0,8 mm. L'usage de gaz protecteur pour ce procédé de soudage
est indispensable. Si vous utilisez ou ajoutez un nouveau matériau pour
renforcer la zone de soudure, nous vous recommandons le fil rematitan
ø 0,40 mm (REF 528-039-50, fig. 7).

Recommandations pour le praticien / le patient
Avant le scellement de l'appareil Titan hyrax
en effectuant 2 à 3 quarts de tour dans le sens de la flèche, afin de tester
le bon fonctionnement, puis revissez-la dans sa position initiale.
N'activez la vis Titan hyrax
et de fermer la vis à plusieurs reprises lors du traitement peut entraver la
fonction de cette dernière.
L'appareil Titan hyrax
manière habituelle. Veuillez respecter les indications du fabricant du
ciment dentaire.
Ensuite, faites tourner la vis de 90°, et ce à quatre reprises à l'aide de
la clé de sûreté (REF 611-120-01, fig. 8) fournie. Un tour de broche
correspond à 0,80 mm d'expansion.
Chaque matin et chaque soir, le patient tourne lui-même, selon
vos instructions, la vis de 90° à deux reprises, jusqu'à obtention de
l'expansion souhaitée.
Attention : utiliser uniquement la clé de sûreté bleue fournie (fig. 8),
≙

afin d'éviter toute ingurgitation !
La clé de sûreté est prévue pour supporter une force maximale de 35 N
≙ 3,5 kg. Veillez cependant à ce que les forces qui s'exercent sur le fil
métallique de la clé de sûreté s'exercent toujours sur le côté fermé du
crochet afin que celui-ci ne se détache pas de l'axe. En cas d'utilisation
non conforme, une surcharge est possible. Toute défaillance de la clé
de sûreté qui en résulte peut entraîner une exclusion de garantie et de
responsabilité.
Nous recommandons des visites de contrôle régulières.
Après obtention de l'expansion souhaitée, bloquez l'appareil Titan hyrax
avec une ligature ou de la résine pour éviter un retour involontaire. Il
reste en bouche env. 2 à 3 mois supplémentaires pour stabiliser le tout.
Après avoir été enlevé, il est remplacé par une plaque de contention.
Si des réactions allergiques à l'un ou plusieurs composants ont
été signalées, il faut renoncer à l'emploi du produit.
Si le praticien et/ou le patient vient à prendre connaissance
d'incidents graves liés à l'usage du produit, il faut que le
fabricant ainsi que l'autorité compétente de l'Etat dans lequel le
praticien et/ou le patient est installé en soient informés.
