1. Increase the temperature in the aquarium to 2 °C above the desired temperature - for example, by carefully
and slowly adding hot water (at a place with good water circulation, e.g. near the filter outlet, so that hot and
cold water mixes quickly!) Monitor the temperature with the DUOMAT.
2. Set the heater/stat to that temperature.
Example: If the desired temperature is 25 °C, the heater/stat should switch itself off at 27 °C.
3. Plug the heater/stat cable into the water heater outlet of the DUOMAT. This means double safety: the water cannot
be heated up above the temperature set according to the paragraphs 1. and 2.
6.2 Fault indicator
In case of a technical defect the DUOMAT will switch the heating systems off. The digital
display will show, for example: F 8 or F 9.
The appliance should then be shipped to the DENNERLE service department for a check-up.
6.3 Fuse replacement
The DUOMAT is equipped with two fuses. Should one of the two connected heating
systems fail to warm up, although the relevant LED indicates it is switched on, either the
heating system is defect or the fuse.
Checking the fuse: Plug a normal table lamp into the corresponding electric outlet of
the DUOMAT. Adjust the set temperature so low, that the heating system is switched on.
Should the LED not light up, the fuse is defective.
Replace the fuse: Disconnect the DUOMAT from the power supply. Unscrew the fuse
holder (left: substrate heater, right: water heater) and remove the defective fuse. Insert a
new, identical fuse (electrical supply store) and replace the fuse holder.
6.4 Power failure / long-term memory of set value
In case of a power failure the long-term memory will maintain the set temperature value.
As soon as power is supplied again to the DUOMAT, it will automatically start adjust the
aquarium temperature to the set value.
The night cut-off unit will be switched off by a power failure. It has to be switched on again
by pushing the control button and setting the actual timer (see 5.2.).
