Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting will cause delays in the system. Wait a few minutes after a change to view the results.
Fault
Indicator light not showing on GSM modem.
Indicator lights "Power/error" and "Communication"
fl ashing red on CTC SMS.
Indicator lights "Power/error" and "Communication"
alternating green/fl ashing red.
Display shows alarm: CTC SMS not responding
Display shows alarm: Failed to send SMS message
Display shows alarm: SIM card missing or PIN code
active
Display shows alarm: No signal or valid GSM
network
GSM information shows low signal strength
GSM information shows no phone number
No reply from CTC SMS
Action
Check that the CTC SMS module is powered on.
Check that CTC SMS is fi tted with a SIM card and that
there is coverage. Coverage is indicated by the amber
indicator light "GSM communication" fl ashing twice every
few seconds. The signal strength can also be checked on
the heat pump display under "Advanced/Defi ne/SMS"
CTC SMS starting up; wait until "Power/error" is green. If
nothing happens within 5 minutes, restart CTC SMS by
switching CTC SMS off for a few seconds then switching on
again.
Check that the RJ45 cables are properly in place between
the display and CTC SMS and between CTC SMS and the
relay card (heat pump). Check that CTC SMS is switched
on with the accompanying network adapter.
Check that the SIM card has been topped up and is not
deactivated if a prepaid card is being used.
Check that the SIM card is positioned the right way round.
Check that the SIM card does not have a PIN code active
using a mobile phone.
Check that the antenna is fi tted correctly to the CTC SMS
module. Use your mobile to check that there is coverage
where you are. If necessary, move the CTC SMS module to
somewhere with good coverage.

Activate the number of the mobile phone that is to receive
the SMS messages.
