ADJUSTING THE ROTATION SPEED (FIG. 6)
Set the electronic regulator of speed (2) to adjust the ap-
propriate speed depending on the processed material
and the tool you use.
Determine the optimum speed of the operating tool by
performing a trial test on a piece of scrap material.
Recommendations for pre-selection of speed
▪ Cutting plastics and other low-melting point materials
shall be carried out at low speed.
▪ Metal cutting must be performed at high speed.
▪ Polishing and cleaning with a wire brush should be
performed at the lowest speed.
The selection of the appropriate speed depends on the
diameter of the accessory used. The larger diameter, the
lower should be the speed.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR OPERATION
▪ Apply only moderate pressure on the workpiece to
maintain constant speed. Excessive pressure does
not accelerate workflow but slows down and stops the
machine and overloads the motor.
▪ Secure small workpieces by a screw clamp or vice to
ensure safety.
▪ Precision work and engraving: use the flexible exten-
sion shaft or hold the machine like a pen.

Maintenance

WARNING: Always switch off and unplug the
power tool prior to any inspection or maintenance
BRUSH REPLACEMENT
In case of excessive sparking, contact a SPARKY au-
thorized service centre to have the carbon brushes
checked and replaced.
GENERAL INSPECTION
Regularly inspect all fasteners and ensure they are
properly tightened. Should any of the screws be loose,
retighten it immediately to avoid hazards.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this
has to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order
to avoid a safety hazard.
CLEANING
For safe operation always keep the machine and its ven-
tilation slots clean.
Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter has
entered the ventilation slots and the grills around the
switches. Use a soft brush and/or air jet to remove any
accumulated dust. Wear safety glasses to protect your
eyes whilst cleaning.
Exterior plastic parts may be cleaned with a damp cloth
and mild detergent if necessary.
WARNING: Never use alcohol, petrol or other
cleaning agent. Never use caustic agents to clean
plastic parts.
WARNING: Water must never come into con-
tact with the tool.
IMPORTANT! To assure product safety and reliability,
repairs, maintenance and adjustment (including brush
inspection and replacement) should be performed by
certified service centres or other qualified service or-
ganisations, always using genuine replacement parts.
