MATERIALS
A 1 Towbar Mainframe with European facing 94/20/EC – A50-1
C 1 Right Angle Support
E 2 Angle Cleat
G 2 Sidearm
J 4 M8 x 30 x 1.25mm Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (20mm O.D)
K 4 M10 x 30 x 1.5mm Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
L 2 M8 x 1.25mm Nuts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (20mm O.D)
M 6 M10 x 45 x 1.5mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (20mm O.D)
P 8 M10 x 25 x 4mm thick Washers
Q 2 M6 x 25mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers, 2 Flat Washers and M8 Flat Washer (20mm O.D)
R 1 ZEP35 Electrical plate (not shown)
CB 2 M16 x 50mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
FITTING
1. Lower exhaust (two hangers holding up rear box). Disconnect the three underside bumper tags and remove
self tapped nut fasteners for outside tags only.
2. Remove two lowest bumper beam bolts on each side of vehicle. Attach Angle Supports (C) and (D) using Bolts
(J). Note: It may be necessary to temporarily loosen the two upper bumper beam bolts on each side and push
bumper beam upwards while fully tightening Bolts (J). Ensure Angle Supports are not held off their mating
faces by bumper beam weld bead.
3. Loosely attach Angle Cleats (E) to Angle Supports (C and D) using Bolts (K). Loosely attach Sidearms (G) to
outer chassis rail studs using Nuts (L).
4. Loosely attach Mainframe (A) to Angle Cleats (E) and Sidearms (G) using Bolts (M), (with washers as shown).
Attach Extended Angle Cleats (F) to Angle Supports (C and D) and Mainframe (A) using Bolts (K and M), (with
washers as shown).
5. Push Mainframe (A) upwards and tighten all Bolts. Use Washers (P) to space down both rear exhaust box
hangers, (place 2 Washers on each stud). Relocate bumper tags using Bolts (Q) for outer tags and original
screw for centre tag.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
