FITTING INSTRUCTIONS: VW Golf IV 4-motion sedan / variant
1. Remove the side lining, plastic sill in the luggage plus the rear lights.
2. Remove bumper (Torx head screws around each wheel arch, along
lower edge of rear panel, beneath each light cluster (light cluster must
be removed for all models) and along top edge of bumper. Note!:
Losen licensplate lightning before you remove the bumper. Cut out in
the lower part of the bumper as shown in the template.
3. Remove bumperbeam and its fastenings. Do not mount it back again!
4. Fit the ends loosely to the frame-members on the car. See illustration!
5. Fit the cross-beam loosely to the ends.See illustration !
6. Tighten all bolts with a torque wrench.
7. Fit electricity.
8. Fit the bumper. Replace the side lining and plastic sill in luggage plus
the rear lights.
9. Fit the ball and electrical socketplate as shown in the illustration.
10. Tighten the bolts with a torque wrench.

1. Remove the platic sill.
2. Remove bumper (Torx head screws around each wheel arch, along
lower edge of rear panel, beneath each light cluster (light cluster must
be removed for all models) and along top edge of bumper.
3. Remove bumperbeam-Do not mount it back again !Cut of the two
lower bolts from the body to the bumperbeam.
4. Fit the ends loosely to the frame-members on the car.See illustration!
5. Fit the cross-beam loosely to the ends.See illustration !
6. Tighten all bolts with a torque wrench.
7. Fit electricity.
8. Fit the bumper and plastic sill .
9. Fit the ball and electrical socketplate as shown in the illustration.
10. Tighten the bolts with a torque wrensh.
Torque settings for nuts and bolts (8.8):
M10 46 Nm
M14 125 Nm
(10,9):
M10 60 Nm (Self locking nut)
