MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Tube with European facing to 94-20 EC – A50-1
D 5 M10 x 120mm x 1.5mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers and large Flat Washers (30mm O.D.)
D1 1 Left Hand Sidearm
D2 1 Right Hand Sidearm
E 5 M10 x 35mm x 1.5mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm O.D)
E1 1 Left Hand Spreader Plate
E2 1 Right Hand Spreader Plate
F1 5 19mm O.D. Bush 86mm long
BC 5 M10 Bolt Caps
CB 2 M16 x 50mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
Z 1 ZEP35 Electrical plate (not shown)
FITTING
1. Release rearmost exhaust hangers and lower exhaust box. Remove the 3 screws securing lower edge of
bumper to rear panel. Locate centre of bumper and remove section from lower edge as shown below.
2. Remove boot floor covering, rear panel trim and side panels to reveal the six dimples in the boot floor (the middle
dimple on right hand side is not used), at these dimples (5 off) drill holes (top skin only) of sufficient size to
enable bushes (F1) to be inserted. Loosely attach Left and Right Hand Sidearms (D1) (D2) to chassis using
Bolts (D), Bushes (F1), Spreader Plates (E1) (E2) and Flat Washers. Note: the forward hole for Sidearm (D1)
must be drilled (dia. 12mm).
3. Position Cross Bar (A) inside bumper (pull down lower edge of bumper to allow access) and secure to Sidearms
(D1) (D2) using Bolts (E) with Flat Washers -Note: the right hand side also connects to the towing eye at existing
holes.
4. Finally tighten all bolts and refit exhaust hangers - on some vehicles it may be necessary to bend the exhaust
hangers down slightly to ensure a minimum of 20mm clearance between exhaust tailpipe and crossbar (A).
5. Refit boot trim and secure bumper lower edge.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm , M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
