Checking the clamping of a cylinder with clamping unit:
Push the piston rod into a park position (e.g. the end position) by hand, at the

same time loosening
the clamping.
by pressurizing the compressed air connections on the cylinder and by
subsequently exhausting a compressed air connection.
This is necessary after a sudden pressure failure if the piston rod is not in the
park position.
Check regularly or after a sudden pressure failure to make sure that clamping

takes place correctly without a work load as follows:
Pressurize the cylinder in the park position
Exhaust the clamping cartridge
Pressurize the cylinder in the stroke direction
The piston rod may move only slightly (è max. axial play in the chapter
Technical specifications").
7 Care and maintenance
Cleaning
Exhaust the clamping cartridge and the cylinder with the clamping unit.

Clean the clamping unit only with water (max. +60 °C).

Dry all components very carefully.

Note
The actuators may perform sudden unexpected movements.
S Make sure that both the cylinder and clamping unit are exhausted.
S Loosen the fastening elements of the cylinder and clamping unit.
Use the opportunity to have your KPE overhauled by our repair service.

The clamping cartridge does not usually require maintenance.
