Use
Compressed oxygen cylinders made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic
have a label with the type identifying marking.
Compressed oxygen cylinders made of steel or aluminium have the
serial number, test date and reference number of the notified body
stamped on the shoulder. Additional tests of these compressed
oxygen cylinders are documented on labels.
"Intended use: A" means that the compressed oxygen cylinder can be
used in closed-circuit breathing apparatus.
"PS": Operating pressure
"PT": Test pressure
"TS": Operating temperature

3 Use
3.1 Information on use
Do not completely empty the compressed oxygen cylinder as

moisture could get in and cause corrosion or contamination inside.
Dräger recommends leaving a minimum pressure of 2 bar in the
compressed oxygen cylinder. Compressed oxygen cylinders that
have been completely emptied by mistake must be dried and
tested. In this case, send the compressed oxygen cylinder to
Dräger to be checked.
Do not hold the thumb wheel on the valve to carry the compressed

oxygen cylinder. Hold it by the valve housing or the cylinder body.
Compressed oxygen cylinders can be heavy and thus difficult to

handle. Improper handling of compressed oxygen cylinders can
lead to sprains, over-exertion, falls, bruising or bone fractures
Avoid accidents by taking sufficient precautionary measures.
Only open or close the valve on the compressed oxygen cylinder

by hand. Do not use tools! Do not use force to turn the valve on the
compressed oxygen cylinder.
The compressed oxygen cylinder contains pressurised gas. It can

explode if it is heated.
Escaping gas can cause a fire or intensify it. Keep the compressed

oxygen cylinder away from flammable materials!
