REGULATING THE FERTILIZER INTERRING HOE «MAGA»
The fertiliser burying discs act parallel to the sowing row,
at an adjustable distance of 5 or 7 cm (Fig. 59). These two
distances are obtained by moving the disc unit to the fi xing holes
on the support.
Before utilizing the seeder, ensure that this distance is suitable
for the type of fertilizer to be distributed and the quantity to
be distributed per hectare, so as to ensure that the crops will
not be damaged.
Also regulate the depth at which the fertilizer is interred, by changing
the height of the spring (Fig. 60).
1) remove the shear pin;
2) pull the lever to unlock the disc support;
3) adjust the disc work depth.
Now, lock the lever with the shear pin.
Moreover, depending on the type of the ground, the springs (M,
Fig. 60-61) can be adjusted to increase or decrease the penetration
force of the burying discs. Factory setting is 4 cm, as indicated in
Figure 61.
After completing this operation, cut any extra off the length of the
tube so as to prevent the creation of folds which could obstruct the
fl ow of the fertilizer (T, Fig. 57).
