All wiring should be done by a qualified electrician and shall be in compliance with local codes. In the absence
of local codes, use the current CSA C22.1 Canadian Electric Code (in Canada) or the ANSI / NFPA N
National Electric Code in the United States.
Burning your appliance with the ash well open or the ash door ajar creates a fire hazard and may cause internal
damage to the appliance or a house and/or chimney fire.
Do not connect this appliance to a chimney flue serving another appliance. Do not connect to or use in
conjunction with any air distribution ductwork unless specifically approved for such installations.
Provide adequate clearance for servicing and operating the appliance.
Provide adequate ventilation.
Never obstruct the front opening of the appliance.
Objects placed in front of the appliance must be kept a minimum of 48" (121.9cm) from the front face of the
appliance.
When the room heater is not properly installed, a house fire may result. To reduce the risk of fire, follow the
installation isntructions. Contact local building or fire officials about restrictions and installation inspection
requirements in your area.
MOBILE HOME INSTALLATION (US ONLY): Do not install in a sleeping room. The structural integrity of the
mobile home floor, walls, and ceiling/roof must be maintained.
Before beginning your installation, consult with your local building code agency or fire officials and insurance
representative to ensure compliance.
Non-toxic smoke will be emitted during the paint curing process, to help dissipate the smoke open a window
near the appliance.
Remove any dust or debris off the top of the appliance before firing the appliance as the paint will become
soft as the appliance heats up and will harden as the appliance cures. To cure the paint on your appliance
burn your appliance moderately hot during the first few fires.
