As the volume of condensates generated over time can be considerable when the ambient air is humid, water should
not be allowed to accumulate around the machine: if the ground around the heat pump will not allow for the
absorption or evacuation of condensates, a drainage system will be necessary.
Similarly, neither precipitation (rain, snow) nor dead leaves should be allowed to accumulate around or touch
the bottom of the machine: usually by choosing a suitable site and raising the support on which the machine
is fixed this type of risk can be dealt with.
To avoid an accumulation of water on the evaporator that could freeze during cool weather, a canopy should be in-
stalled over the machine. Leave at least 50 cm between the top of the machine and the canopy.
