The gold-coloured contacts of the MEM card must face downwards. The
beveled corner of the MEM card must match with the corresponding be-
veled corner of the MEM card compartment.
Press the MEM card down until the small lug b grips. The lug is always lo-
cated opposite of the holding points.
After a MEM card from a D3, FC1, FC4 or IH4 handset has been inserted
into the D4 Office ... and after the rechargeable battery has been moun-
ted again ... and after the handset has been switched on again, the follo-
wing applies ...

The handset D4 Office will handle the phone book on the MEM card as

If the the D4 Office is equipped with a D3 or FC1 MEM card, it will take
over the phone book entries from the MEM card and store them in its
own phone book memory
If the D4 Office is equipped with an FC4 or IH4 MEM card, it will use the
phone book entries from the MEM card without copying them.
NOTE
Phone book management during operation of a D4 Office equip-
ped with a MEM card from a D3 or FC1 handset:
If you change the content of the phone book by means of adding or
modifying phone book entries, this will result in a modification of the
integrated phone book memory of the D4 Office only! The phone book
entries stored on the D3 or FC1 MEM card will remain unchanged.
