4.12. Parking the motorcycle

CAUTION
• Park the motorcycle safely on solid ground.
• On slopes, engage the first gear and
park the vehicle so that the front wheel
faces uphill. Remember to put the gear
lever in the neutral position before
restarting the engine.
• Never leave the vehicle unattended while
the engine key is in the dashboard.
Using the sidestand
Using your foot, lower the sidestand as far as
it will go, and then slowly tip the motorcycle
toward you to bring the stand supporting foot into
contact with the ground's surface.
WARNING
Do not sit on the vehicle when it is parked on
the sidestand, as your full weight would rest
on the vehicle's only support.
WARNING
Before travelling ensure that the safety
switch is operating, checking that the side
stand open message on the dashboard turns
off; in any case, check that the stand is with-
drawn. If you notice a malfunction of the side
stand switch, have it controlled by your MV
Agusta dealer before using the motorcycle.
