Maintenance
Self-cleaning function
Important:
The iron will work at its best and have the longest possible service life if
you clean it after using it often, in order to remove threads, chalky deposits
etc.
1.
Fill the water reservoir.
2.
Adjust the temperature regulator to the "MAX" setting.
3.
Connect the mains plug to a wall-mounted socket.
4.
Let the appliance heat up and wait for the operating indicator lamp to go out.
5.
Remove the mains plug from the wall-mounted socket.
6.
Hold the iron horizontally over a washbasin.
7.
Move the steam switch (5) to the "steam" setting.
8.
Hot water and steam will now come out of the openings in the iron soleplate. Any
contaminants, such as chalky deposits (if any are present) will be rinsed out with the
water.
9.
Move the iron backwards and forwards while hot water comes out, and carry on
doing so until the water reservoir is empty.
10. Move the steam switch (5) to the "0" position.
11. Connect the plug to a wall-mounted socket.
12. Adjust the temperature regulator to the "MAX" setting. Let the iron heat up once more.
Any water still remaining in the reservoir will now turn into steam and come out
through the openings in the iron soleplate.
13. We recommend that you move the iron over a piece of old cloth while you carry out
this procedure.
