TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
Proper storage of your PPE will ensure better product longevity and ensure your safety.
During transport and storage, make sure your PPE is placed away from heat sources, humidity, corrosive atmos-
phere, ultraviolet rays, etc. and prevent your PPE from any impact or excessive vibration.
5 -
CLEANING
Proper care of your PPE will ensure longer life of the product and your safety. Be sure to adhere strictly to these
guidelines:
• Clean with water and mild soap. Do not use any solvents or acid/alkaline containing cleansing agents under
any circumstances.
• Allow to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from any open fire or other sources of heat.
6 -
BEFORE USE
Before each use, carry out a thorough visual examination to ensure that the PPE as well as any other equipment
with which it could be associated (connector, harness...) is complete. Make all necessary arrangements for emer-
gency or any rescue operations to be conducted in total safety. In the event that your product is damaged, consult
the manufacturer or the authorized agent. If you have any doubts regarding the safe condition of the product or
if the product has been used to arrest a fall, it is essential for your personal safety that the PPE is withdrawn from
service and sent to the manufacturer or a qualified repair centre for checking or disposal. Following examination,
the centre will either deliver or refuse a written authorization to reuse the PPE. It is strictly forbidden to modify
or repair a PPE yourself. Only the manufacturer or the repair centre is qualified to carry out repairs. If a complete
system is supplied, it is prohibited to replace the components.
Before each use, check the condition of the mobile fall arrester and the flexible anchor line. Check the following
points with care:
• Free movement of the brake lever and the spring returning the lever. RG300 brake lever is designed to stop a fall
over a limited distance, keeping the arrest force below 6 kN.
• Check the rope grab locking function (Fig.2)
• Check that the fall indicator was not activated (See Fig.3).
• General appearance of the flexible anchor line; particularly, the extent of wear.
• Check the general appearance of the anchorage support; particularly, the extent of wear.
• Check for deterioration (tearing cracks, wear, burning, etc...).
• Correct operation of the carabiners & snap hook.
• Absence of signs of corrosion or deformation.
DO NOT USE THE DEVICE IF YOU SEE THE WARNING LABEL ON WEBBING EXTENSION (See Fig.3).

USE
The RG300 Automatic Rope Grab is a fall arrester with a self-locking function and a guide facility to safely access
building facades, frameworks, roofs, towers, etc. (Fig.1). In the event of a fall, it will lock instantly on the rope.
• The user's weight, attire and equipment, must not exceed 140 kg (see product marking).
• Don't allow any slack in the rope and don't move above the anchorage point (Fig. 4).
• Temperature limits for RG300 Automatic Rope Grab are from -30°C to +50°C.
• Do not use the product outside its limitations or for any other purpose than intended by the
manufacturer.
7 — 1 CONNECTION
The RG300 Automatic Rope Grab must be used with a fall arrest harness (conforming to EN 361). It must never
be used with a waist belt for work positioning. It must be connected to the harness EXCLUSIVELY using the
supplied automatic snap hook (EN 362). The length of the part linking the rope grab to the harness must not be
modified (e.g. never add a miniature lanyard).
NEVER ADD AN ADDITIONAL LINKING ELEMENT BETWEEN THE SNAP HOOK AND THE HARNESS.
7 — 2 INSTALLATION
Attach the end of the rope with karabiner to secure and conform anchorage support. RG300 Automatic Rope Grab
can be only used with the supplied edge tested kernmantle static rope of diameter 11mm. Never replace the rope
