4.2.9 Mounting the infrared radiators
You can fix the Iris EF infrared radiator to the wall using the CA 5302 wall mounting bracket. The range is
up to 76 metres. The horizontal angle of radiation is 25°.
If the radiators cannot be mounted on the ceiling, walls or existing load-bearing structures, they are
fastened to tripods and positioned around the room.
When mounting the radiators, take care to ensure that the Iris EF infrared radiator reaches the Iris RP Mk II
digital infrared pocket receiver via either direct or diffuse radiation. Remember that the signal cannot
reach delegates sitting behind other delegates. As a rule, the infrared radiators should therefore be
installed at a minimum height of 2.50 metres. In addition, the infrared radiators should radiate across
the conference room from different directions in order to ensure that the entire room is covered.
If the infrared radiators are installed high enough, signal intensity will not decrease completely to zero
in shadows because infrared light is reflected. However, the reception quality is poorer.
Quadratic IR coverage
Coverage for audience and podium seats
IR coverage for "blind spots"
If infrared barricades are present in the conference room, additional infrared radiators should be installed
in order to ensure a normal signal transmission.
