Chapter 4 : Optional keypad for storage
If you have purchased the separate keypad, you can use it to save texts on the hard disk, an MP3 player,
or a USB stick. The photo of the text is also saved in black-and-white.
At the top left is the switch for selecting the medium. With this you can select the hard disk, the MP3 player
or the USB stick. Top right there are two arrow keys with which you can browse through the groups on the
hard disk, MP3 player or USB stick. Each group contains 10 positions that you can liken to a folder on the
computer. The 12 round buttons (4 columns and 3 rows) represent these positions. Each position is
indicated by a number.
In order to read a text that is entered at a position, press briefly on the key. Then press on the same key to
confirm or on another key to cancel. In order to save a text, press on the key for a while. Press again to
confirm. Press on another key to cancel.
In order to delete a text, replace the current text with a new text which overwrites the old one.
Chapter 5 : Camera
The following items are also supplied: a camera with connection cable, a page position accessory, a
navigation block and a number of plastic sheets.
You proceed as follows. Connect the camera with the USB cable supplied. Soon after the reader reports
that a camera is connected. The camera now replaces the scanner. Then place the camera in the page
position accessory. Ensure that the legs of the accessory point in the same direction as the unfolded
camera.
In order to read the page with the camera, lay it flat in the accessory with the facing text up. Press on the
square scan button in the middle of the keypad in order to read out the page.
With the navigation block you can determine the start position simply by placing the block somewhere on
the text. The text that is read out depends on the navigation mode. Generally the reader is set for block
reading so that the reader reads the text block under the navigation block. If you only want to read the
word, then set the reader to word by word reading and position the block. If you put the block on a photo or
white space, then an audio signal is given. You then have to move the block.
