Start of Service
CANICALM is supplied with battery fitted.
Lift the n° 2 setting mask (Fig. 1) and turn the On/Off switch to On. After a few seconds, a sound
beep of 1.5 seconds will be emitted indicating that the collar is operating correctly.
Adjustment and positioning of the collar
The strap must be adjusted so that the contact points are in contact with the skin of the dog.
Collar adjustment is very important:
- If the strap is too loose, the collar is likely to move and repeated friction can irritate the skin of
your dog. Furthermore, it will not function correctly.
- If the collar is too tight, the dog will have breathing difficulties.
Place the collar at the centre of the dog's neck.
Do not leave the collar more than 8 hours a day on your dog. Take the time to check that there
are no signs of irritation on your dog's neck.
Choice of contact points
Two different series of contact points are supplied. The length of the contact points must be
sufficient to have proper contact with the dog's skin, enabling the device to operate correctly.
If you have a long haired dog and the short contact points fitted to the collar in the factory
are inadequate, remove and replace them with the long ones supplied in the kit. A moderate
manual screwing is sufficient (do not use any key).
Operation
At the first bark, a series of six sound beeps are emitted. If another bark is detected within 30
sec, another sound beep of 2 sec is emitted together with a stimulation lasting 0.05 (or 0.2, as
selected) seconds (Fig. 2). Inhibition of any further stimulations is dependant on the absence of
any barking within the next 30 seconds. The stimulation function can be inhibited using the
stimulations switch placed under the setting mask n° 1 (Fig. 2). In this case, only the sound beep
will be emitted. The barking detection sensitivity setting is a very important preliminary
operation (Fig. 2). In fact this setting determines the correct operation of the product. It
provides sure detection of any barking and helps avoid un-necessary detection. The setting
must therefore be sufficiently sensitive but not too much.
