Battery installation/Battery charge
Important:
L Use the supplied rechargeable batteries. For replacement, we recommend
using the Panasonic rechargeable batteries noted in the base unit's User
Guide on the Panasonic Web site. See page 4 for Panasonic URL.
L Wipe the battery ends (S, T) with a dry cloth.
L Avoid touching the battery ends (S, T) or the unit contacts.
L Confirm correct polarities (S, T).
L USE ONLY Ni-MH batteries AAA (R03) size.
L Do NOT use Alkaline/Manganese/Ni-Cd batteries.
Place the handset on the charger for about 6 hours before initial use.
Note:
L If the batteries are fully charged, but the operating time seems to be shorter,
clean the battery ends (S, T) and the charge contacts with a dry cloth and
charge again.

Registering a handset to the base unit

Base unit:
NKX-TGP500 series
Press and hold {x} for about 4 seconds until the 4 indicator flashes in
red.
NKX-TGP550 series
Press and hold {x} for about 4 seconds until the registration tone sounds
and the 4 indicator flashes in red.
L If all registered handsets start ringing, press the same button to stop. Then
repeat this step.
L The next step must be completed within 90 seconds.

Wait until "Enter Base PIN" is displayed. i Enter the base unit PIN
(default: "0000"). i Press M, then wait until a long beep sounds.
L If you forget your PIN, contact your phone system dealer.
