Operating Instructions
Protect saw blades against impact and shock.
Excessive feed significantly reduces the perform-
ance capability of the machine and reduces the
service life of the saw blade.
Sawing performance and cutting quality depend
essentially on the condition and the tooth form of
the saw blade. Therefore, use only sharp saw
blades that are suited for the material to be
worked.
Wood
The correct selection of the saw blade depends
on the type and quality of the wood and whether
lengthway or crossway cuts are required.
When cutting spruce lengthways, long spi-
ral chips are formed.
Beech and oak dusts are especially detrimental to
health. Therefore, work only with dust extraction.
Plastic (GKS 65 CE)
When sawing plastic, especially PVC, long,
spiral shaped shavings are produced that
can be electrostatically charged.
As a result, the dust ejector 15 can become
clogged and jam the retracting blade guard 12. It
is best to use dust extraction.
Guide the switched on machine against the work
and carefully start the cut. Carry out the cut swiftly
and without interruption. This delays the build-up
of material on the saw teeth.
Non-Ferrous Metal (GKS 65 CE)
Use only a sharp saw blade that is suitable
for the material. This ensures a clean cut
and prevents the jamming of the saw
blade.
Guide the switched on machine against the work
and carefully start the cut. Carry out the cut with
low feed speed and without interruption.
For cuts on profile sections, always start the cut
on the narrow side; for U-sections, never begin
the cut on the open side.
Support long profile sections, otherwise the saw
blade will jam when the cut side gives way, lead-
ing to possible kickback of the machine.
Materials with Mineral Content (Light
Construction Materials) (GKS 65 CE)
Only dry cutting is permitted.
Work only with a guide rail 28 (accessory).
Use dust extraction. The vacuum cleaner must
be approved for the extraction of masonry dust.

Tips
Parallel Guide (see figure
The parallel guide 11 enables exact cuts along a
workpiece edge and cutting strips of the same di-
mension.
Sawing with an Auxiliary Guide
(see figure
)
D
For cutting large workpieces or or straight edges:
Clamp a board or strip tightly to the workpiece as
an auxiliary guide using screw clamps. Guide the
base plate along the auxiliary guide.
Guide Rail (accessory)
(see figures
F
The guide rail 28 enables particularly exact cut-
ting, both vertically and mitred to 45°.
The adhesive coating prevents the guide rail from
slipping and protects the surface of the work-
piece. The hard anodised coating of the guide rail
allows the circular saw to glide easily.
Adjust the correct cutting depth while observing
the height of the guide rail.
Rectangular Cuts (see figure
For rectangular cuts, the saw can be placed di-
rectly on the guide rail 28. Attach the guide rail
with the screw clamps 26 in a secure manner.
The guide rail 28 must not extend beyond
the face side of the work where the cut is to
be started.
Mitre Cuts (see figure
For mitre cuts with the guide rail 28, the guide-rail
adapter 31 (accessory) is generally required.
For exact cuts using the guide rail 28 pro-
ceed as follows:
– Place the guide rail onto the workpiece project-
ing slightly over the side. Make sure that the
end with the rubber lip is directed towards the
saw blade (Fig. I).
