5. CAUTION – Some parts of this product can become very hot and
cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children
and vulnerable people are present.
6. Children shall not play with the appliance
7. Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children aged
less than 8 years
8. Connect appliance only to an AC power supply with voltage cor-
responding to the voltage on the rating plate.
9. Do not operate this appliance with an external timer or remote
control system.
10. Never immerse the appliance or the power cord in water or other
liquids.
11. The base should never come into contact with water or other liq-
uids. In case this ever happens, it must be completely dry before
operating the appliance again.
12. Do not clean the electric kettle or the base in a dish-washer.
13. Never touch the appliance or power cord with wet hands.
14. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar
applications such as:
ƒ staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environ-
ments;
ƒ farm houses;
ƒ by client in hotels, motels and other working environments;
ƒ bed and breakfast type environments.
15. For safety reasons, never place the appliance on hot surfaces, a
metal tray or a wet surface.
16. Do not place the appliance or power cord near open flames dur-
ing operation.
17. Always use the electric kettle on a level, uncluttered and heat-
resistant surface.
18. Make sure that the power cord does not hang over the edge of the
countertop or table, since this can cause accidents, for example
if small children pull on the cord.
19. Route the power cord so that there is no possibility of the cord
being pulled or tripped over.
20. Never wrap the power cord around the appliance.
21. Use the electric kettle only indoors.
22. Use the appliance only for heating water. Do not use it to heat
milk or other liquids, since they will boil over when heated.
23. Never heat objects such as cans or bottles in the electric kettle.
24. Make sure that the lid of the appliance is always completely
closed, to prevent injuries from hot splashing water.
