• The Thumbwheel currently supports RED cameras with Canon

Electronic lenses and firmware V5.3.49 or above is required.

• The RED camera will switch to manual focus mode if a lens was

replaced while the camera was powered off.

Operation

Motor Calibration

Calibrate the motor every time after it is turned on so that it can find the end

points on a lens.

Press the DIR button and the LENS button simultaneously to start calibration.

Calibration is complete when the system status indicator goes solid green.

Pressing the DIR button and the LENS button simultaneously during calibration

will stop the process.

Calibration is not necessary when using the Thumbwheel to control

RED Cameras with Electronic Lens. Press the DIR and LENS button

simultaneously to use the Thumbwheel to pause/resume control of the

lens.

Travel Range Settings

1. Turn the focus wheel on the Thumbwheel to the desired upper travel limit

and press the LENS button once.

2. Turn the focus wheel on the Thumbwheel to the desired lower travel limit and

press the LENS button once again.

3. Now turning the focus wheel a full cycle will rotate the lens between the two

travel limits.

Press and hold the Lens button to reset the travel range.

Switching Rotation Direction

Press and hold the DIR button to reverse the rotate control direction.
