increases the wear and the tendency
to tilt or jam and thus the possibility
of kick back or breaking of the
grinding wheel.
d Keep your hand away from the area
in front of and behind the rotating
cutting disc. If you move the cutting
disc in the workpiece away from you,
in the event of a kickback the power
tool and rotating disc can be thrown
towards you.
e If the cutting wheel sticks or you
stop working, switch the tool off
and hold it still until the disc has
come to a standstill. Never attempt
to pull out a cutting disc out of the
cut while it is still rotating as this
may cause kickback. Investigate and
take corrective actions to eliminate
the cause of the jam.
f Do not switch the power tool back
on with it still in the workpiece.
Wait until the cutting disc has
achieved its full speed before you
carefully continue the cut. Otherwise
the disc may get caught, jump out of
the workpiece or cause kickback.
g Support boards or large workpieces
to reduce the risk of kickback
caused by a jammed cutting wheel.
Large workpieces may bend under
their own weight. The workpiece
should be supported on both sides of
the disc, both near to the cut and at
the edge.
h Be particularly careful when
chasing into existing walls or other
concealed areas. The plunging
cutting disc may cut into gas or
water pipes, electrical cables or other
objects thus causing kickback.

Special safety instructions for
working with wire brushes:
a Take note that pieces of wire are
lost from wire brushes even in
normal use. Do not overload the
wires by pressing too hard. Flying
fragments of wire can easily penetrate
thin clothing and/or the skin.
b Operate the brush at working speed
for at least a minute before applying
it to the workpiece. Make sure that
noone else is in line with the brush
at the same time. Loose pieces of
wire can fly off during the run-up
period.
c Direct the rotating brush away
from you. Small particles and tiny
fragments of wire can be ejected at
high speed and penetrate the skin
while working with these brushes.
