Setting procedure:
1. Put the [ON/OFF] switch in the [ON] position.
2. Supply an external current / voltage to set the output voltage to about 25% of the maximum
voltage.
3. Increase the output voltage, while checking the bonding force of the material, until the correct
bonding force has been reached.
4. Set the output voltage to a value about 10% higher to accommodate process fluctuations.
6.4 Display readings
6.4.1 Setpoint
Pressing the [kV] key in will display the setpoint, the [SETPOINT] led will also light up. The
setpoint value that is shown depends on the position of the key-operated switch.
6.4.2 Output voltage
The normal readout of the ECM is the actual output voltage, the [kV] led lights up.
6.4.3 Output current
Pressing the [mA] key will display the output current, the [mA] led will light up. The output
current is a function of the load and the set voltage. This current cannot be set.
Hint:
Keep a record of the voltage and the output current required. This information will
-
make it easier to reset the system and provides information on any wear on parts of
the charging bar / electrode.
Switch off the system if it is not in use. This prevents unnecessary wear.
-
7. Functional check
The [OVERLOAD] led will light up:
- in case of spark-over
- when the generator is overloaded (maximum current is reached). In case of an overload the
output voltage is decreased until the maximum current is reached.
