8.4. External readout of voltage or current
8.4.1. Summary
The output voltage and current can be read out externally via the Sub-D connector. A digital
voltmeter or an analog interface can be used for this purpose.
The output ranges are set using the dipswitch at the rear of the unit. The ranges are:
0 – 5 V
0 – 10 V
The maximum output current of these Sub-D connections is 0,5 mA.
8.4.2. Installation
Connect the voltmeters to the Sub-D connector, as shown in the diagram (see the appended
diagram and dipswitch settings).
8.5. Overload signalling
8.5.1. Summary
An overload can also be signalled externally. It can be indicated by a led lighting up or by
sending a signal to a PLC, for instance. The signal can be shown with a delay (as for the
[OVERLOAD] led) by setting the dipswitch on the rear of the unit; switch 8 must then be set to
[ON] (see appended dipswitch settings).
The overload connection on the Sub-D connector is an optocoupler output and is therefore
electrically isolated.
8.5.2. Installation
Connect the external overload led as shown in the appended diagram.
Maximum load 50VDC, 50mA.
9. Maintenance
- Keep the unit dry and free of dust, dirt and chemicals.
- Check the generator earthing at regular intervals.
- Regularly check the high-voltage connectors and cables for mechanical or electrical damage.
- The generator does not contain any parts that require regular maintenance.
