Ambient conditions

Temperature range of ambient air:
in operation: -10 °C ... +40 °C (+14 °F ... +104 °F)
Transport
and storage: -25 °C ... +55 °C (-13 °F ... +131 °F)
Relative humidity:
up to 50 % at 40 °C (104 °F)
up to 90 % at 20 °C (68
Operation, storage and transport may only
be carries out within the ranges indicated!
Use outside of this range is considered not
used with its intended purpose. The manu-
facturer is not liable for damages cause by
misuse.
Ambient air must be free of dust, acids, corrosive gases
or other damaging
substances!!

General regulation of use

The device is intended to be used in trade and industry. It
is portable and may be operated with both, mains power
supply and an electric power generator.
This machine is built for MMA-welding.
With the TIG volve torch the machine can be used for
TIG welding (DC current) for following material:
- mild steels, low- and high alloyed steels
- copper and its alloys
- nickel and its alloys
- material like titanium, zircon, tantalum
The device is not destined for AC-TIG welding of alu-
minium and manganese.

Unit protection

This unit is protected electronically against overloading.
But do not trigger the main switch during welding.
The device is cooled by means of a fan. In case the cool-
ing is insufficient, the electronic components may over-
heat and get consequently damaged.
‰ Take care for free access in the area of the ventila-
tion slots.
‰ Do not put any objects through the ventilation slots.
You may damage the fan.
‰ Never weld if the fan is out of order. Call the service
to repair the device.
Do not use fuses of higher amperage than printed on the
identification plate.
Connect the workpiece with the groundcable to the ma-
chine.
To transport the device, carry it with the strap in horizon-
tal position.
Duty cycle (ED)
The duty cycle (ED) is based on a working cycle of 10
minutes. Consequently ED 60% means a welding time
of 6 minutes. After that period the device shall cool down
for 4 minutes.
Provided that you exceed the duty cycle ED, the build-
in thermal control switches off the unit. As soon as the
device has sufficiently cooled down, it is switched on au-
tomatically

UVV(regulation for prevention
of accidents) inspection
Depending on the operation, users of commercially oper-
ated welding systems are obliged to have safety inspec-
tions of the equipment carried out regularly in accord-
ance with VDE 0544-207. Lorch recommends inspection
periods of 12 months.
A safety inspection must also be carried out after altera-
tions or repair of the system.
! Caution ! : Improperly carried out UVV in-
spections can destroy the system.
For more information on UVV inspections
of welding systems, please contact your
authorized Lorch service center
