• ABOUT THIS CONTACT GRILL

o This appliance has been designed to make hot sandwiches and to grill food, such as
vegetables, fish or meat (sausages, steaks, bacon, e.g.).
o The contact grill features two cooking plates with a non-stick coating.
o A removable grease collector at the back of the appliance allows its easy cleaning.
o The appliance has a hinged top plate to adapt to food of any thickness.
o Placing the hinge release lever to its upper position allows to open the grill 180° and
use it as a table barbecue.

• IMPORTANT

o Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
o Remove all packaging materials and any promotional stickers before switching on the
device.
o Before the first use, clean the cooking plates with a soft cloth dampened in warm
water and dry thourougly. Use mild detergent when required.
o For best results, pour a few drops of vegetable oil or cooking spray on the griddles.
o Make sure that the tray for collecting the grease/oil is correctly placed.
o Note: When turning on the appliance for the first time, you may notice an unpleasant
smell that tends to be given off when an appliance is new. This does not affect its
safety. Heat it up first to high temperatures for at least five minutes, without food
inside, and open the lid for outletting the possible smoke and smell.

• USING THE CONTACT GRILL

o Plug into the outlet and adjust the thermostat (9) to the required position. The
"POWER" indicator light (10) will come on.
o Once the correct temperature has been reached, the "READY" indicator light (8) will
go out.
o Open the contact grill, place the food to be grilled on the lower plate and close the
grill. The upper plate will automatically adjust to fit the thickness of the food. The
appliance will then grill the food on both sides. Adjust the time to suit your own
taste.
o If used open, set the temperature control knob (9) to "max" and place the food on
either griddle. Turn the food regularly as needed. To keep it warm while serving, turn
the thermostat knob counter-clockwise to "min".
o Use the handle to open the lid. Remove the food from the grill using wooden or
rubber utensils. Never use metal tongs or knife as these may damage the non-stick
coating of the grill plates.
