Descaling the appliance
Regular descaling prolongs the service life
of the appliance and ensures that the coffee
has an excellent flavour.
If the red indicator light 3 keeps on flashing
briefly, the appliance must be descaled.
Use a commercially available descaling agent.
Important:
Never descale the appliance with vinegar
or vinegar based agents!

Insert pad holder 11 or 12 without coffee
pad into the drawer 7. Insert drawer 7 and
secure with locking lever 6.

Mix descaling agent with water according
to the manufacturer's specifications and fill
up to the min mark on the water tank 5.
S
Place a fairly large receptacle (min 0.5 l)
under the coffee outlet 6.
S
Simultaneously hold down buttons
4 for at least 3 seconds.
Descaling liquid is now pumped automatically
into the receptacle at intervals (for approx.
8 min.) until the water tank 5 is almost empty.
During the descaling process the indicator light
3 flashes briefly again.
If the light flashes uniformly,

rinse out the water tank 5 and fill with fresh
water.
S
Thoroughly clean the pad holder 11 or 12
and clean the opening in the middle with
a needle.
S
Empty the receptacle and place under the
coffee outlet 8 again.
S
Press button
The indicator light 3 is lit constantly.
The appliance is ready to use.

Eliminating minor faults
yourself
The indicator light 3 flashes very quickly and
flickers if a fault has occurred.
Wait until the light stops flashing. Then:
- Rinse out and clean the water tank 5.
- Check that the water tank 5 has been
attached correctly and that there is adequate
water in the tank.
- Check whether pad holder 11 or 12
is blocked. If required, clean pad holder 11
or 12 and clean the opening in the centre
with a needle.
The appliance is ready to use when the
indicator light 3 is lit.
Coffee is not running through.
- Thoroughly clean the pad holder 11 or 12
and clean the opening in the middle with
a needle.
