Maintenance
The national regulations applicable to
the maintenance, servicing and test of
apparatus for explosive atmospheres as
well as the general rules of engineering
will have to be observed (IEC/EN 60079-17
and IEC/EN 60079-19)!
71
Servicing
When servicing, in particular those components
that affect the explosion protection, will have to
be checked, e. g.:
– Housing and protective bowl for any cracks or
damages.
– Gaskets for their perfect condition.
– Terminals and blanking plugs for their firm fit.
– Because of the risk of an electrostatic charge,
the light fitting shall only be cleaned with a
damp, non-fibrous cloth or sponge!
Only use customary household washing-up
liquid diluted in water! The water temperature
may be max. 50 °C.
After that, rinse with clear water to prevent the
risk of tension cracks in the protective bowl!
– Lamp replacement: Keep replacement intervals
as specified by the lamp manufacturer!
Test of the emergency light function
Switch the luminaire off the mains voltage.
The emergency lamp (red lampholder) must light.
A function test should not exceed the following
test periods:
Battery set for 1.5 h emergency light: 60 min.
Battery set for 3.0 h emergency light: 120 min.
Should the emergency lamp be
extinguished within the test period though
the battery is fully charged, the latter will
have to be replaced by a new battery set.
Mind: The full battery capacity will be
available after approx. 3 charging/discharg-
ing cycles due to physical behaviour.
Fault analysis: eLLK92 NI / NIB; eLLB 20 Ni / NIB; eLLS08 NIB
(Test during continuous switching of light fitting - combinations with several faults are not registered)

Repair / Overhaul / Modifications

Repairs and overhaul may only be carried out
with genuine Cooper Crouse-Hinds (CCH) /
CEAG spare parts.
In the event of damage, replacement of
these components is mandatory. In case of
doubt, the respective apparatus shall be sent
to Cooper Crouse-Hinds (CCH) / CEAG for
repair.
Reconstruction or modifications to LED module
are not permitted.
Repairs that affect the explosion protec-
tion, may only be carried out by Cooper
Crouse-Hinds (CCH) or a qualified electrician
in compliance with the applicable national
rules (IEC/EN 60079-19).
Modifications to the device or changes of its
design are not permitted.
81
LED-module replacement
LED-module replacement can be done without
cut off the luminaire from mains supply,
because an all pole switch will isolate the
lampholders while opening the protective bowl.
Notice: Observe national standards or
directions for use which can be divergent to
this!
The LED-module have to be replaced as
shown in Fig. 11 and 12.
9

Disposal / Recycling

When the apparatus is disposed of, the
respective national regulations on waste
disposal will have to be observed.
Subject to modifications or supplement of
the product range.
In order to facilitate the recycling of individual
components, plastic parts are provided with
the identification mark of the plastic material
used.

10 Rebuilding of the light fitting at
Fluorescent lamps inserting
If the light fitting eLL. 92 operating with
Fluorescent lamps, consider of the following
items:
1. Open the light fitting eLL.92 as shown in
operating instruction.
2. Replace LED-module (Fig 11 and
Fig 12).
101 Fluorescent lamps inserting
Observe the safety instructions of the
lamp manufacturer!
Only use such Fluorescent lamps that
have been certified for these light fittings:
T8 Bi-pin-lamps 18 W and 36 W acc.
IEC 60081 with G13-holders.
The Fluorescent lamps is to be inserted to its
stop into both holders, see fig. 13, so that both
pins on either side of the Fluorescent lamps
engage in the holder.
Then turn the Fluorescent lamps through 90° to
its lock-in position, see fig. 14, the green
surface in the holder getting visible. Now the
Fluorescent lamps is secured against falling
out.
102 Fluorescent lamps inserting
replacement
– Keep replacement intervals as specified by
the Fluorescent lamps manufacturer!
– Fluorescent lamps replacement can be done
without cut off the luminaire from mains
supply, because an all pole switch will isolate
the lampholders while opening the protective
bowl.
Notice: Observe national standards or
