ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY PACK
To ensure the longest battery life and best battery performance, always charge the battery when the temperature is
between 18~24°C. Do not charge and store your battery in temperatures below 0°C and above 40°C. Failure to obser-
ve this safety rule could cause serious damage to the battery pack.
Do not discard the battery pack in a fire under any circumstances. The battery pack can explode in a fire.
In case of excessive use or extreme temperature conditions, a small amount of liquid may escape. If the outer shell is
damaged and skin contact with the liquid occurs, wash the affected area immediately with soap and water. You can
neutralise the liquid with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse eyes for at
least 10 minutes with clean water and seek medical advice immediately. Inform the medical professional that the liquid
was a 25-35 percent calium hydroxide solution.
Do not attempt to open the battery pack under any circumstances. If the plastic housing around the battery pack breaks
or exhibits any cracks, stop using the battery pack immediately and do not charge it again. The battery pack should be
disposed of as hazardous waste in accordance with the relevant requirements.
Do not store or carry a spare battery pack in a pocket or toolbox or any other place where it may come into contact with
metal objects. Such objects can short and damage the battery pack, as well as result in burns or a fire.
Do not attempt to pierce the battery with nails or hit it with a hammer; do not stand on the battery or expose it to
severe stress or knocks. During storage or disposal of the battery pack, cover the contacts with thick insulating tape to
avoid the risk of short circuit. Rechargeable batteries will discharge during extended periods of storage. Do not store
the tool and the battery pack in areas where the temperature can reach 50° C or more.
Do not place the battery in or near fire, on stoves or other high temperature locations. Do not expose the battery to
direct sunlight and do not use or leave it in a vehicle during hot weather. This can result in the development of heat or
to the battery exploding or igniting. Such use of the battery can also lead to reduced performance and a shorter service
life.
When not in use, store the battery at room temperature (18° C to 24° C) and with a charge level of approx. 30 – 50 %.
In case of extended periods of storage, charge the battery once a year to avoid deep discharge. After charging, allow
the battery pack to cool. Do not leave the battery in warm areas or in direct sunlight.
Only charge the battery with the charger supplied.
