1.1
Functional Principle
The supplementary heater installed in the storage heater enables the room to be heated independently
of the charging of the storage heater.
In the transitional period, for example, the heating requirements on cool days can be covered by the
supplementary heater alone, i.e. without charging the storage heater.
If the stored heat is no longer sufficient when it suddenly gets cold in the evening, the supplementary
heater can be switched on for support. The supplementary heater does not come into action as long as
there is enough stored heat. Operation of the supplementary heater would be uneconomical in this
case.
The supplementary heater is only operated with the fan running and is connected to this at the
discharge unit of the storage heater (230 V).
The electricity costs are totalled by the main tariff meter.
1.2
Operation
. . . with separate room temperature regulator
When using a room temperature regulator without supplementary heater switch, the supplementary
heater can be switched by the ON/OFF switch (S1) to be installed in the control panel.
In the case of a room temperature regulator with supplementary heater switch, the supplementary
heater is switched on/off with this switch (no ON/OFF switch is necessary in the control panel).
. . . with built-in room temperature regulator
If the unit is controlled by the built-in room temperature regulator RTi 102 E or RTi 103 EP, the
supplementary heater is switched with the ON/OFF switch provided.
When operating with a RTi 103 EP (proportional controller) it should be noted that this regulator
becomes a 2-position controller after switching on the supplementary heater.
Observe the operating and installation instructions of the room temperature regulator!
